Question 2

What does "mattress foundation" mean?

Accepted Answer

A mattress foundation is a solid structure that the mattress rests on. It provides proper support for the mattress and sleeper. Additionally, it can extend the lifespan of a mattress because it lifts it off the ground and promotes even airflow.

Question 3

Do I need a foundation for my mattress?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a quality foundation helps support your mattress and can extend its lifespan by promoting airflow and keeping it off the ground. Without a foundation, your mattress may be more prone to dust and debris buildup and may prematurely sag. While Puffy mattresses work on any flat surface, including the floor, a foundation like the Puffy Midnight Foundation adds benefits such as improved ventilation, better support, and easier bed access.

Question 4

What is the best foundation for a mattress?

Accepted Answer

Either solid foundations or those with wooden or metal slats. Solid mattress foundations consist of a sturdy frame with slats across the bed frame, but they must be placed closely together to adequately support the mattress. A solid foundation is a sturdy frame with slats, a support beam, or a board covered with a breathable fabric to permit airflow.

Question 5

How to choose a mattress foundation?

Accepted Answer

Choosing the right foundation will depend on the mattress type and size. A memory foam mattress will need a foundation that promotes better airflow, like the Puffy Midnight Foundation. Solid structures like bunkie boards may block air circulation to the mattress. Hybrid mattresses are more advanced and have an open-cell structure, so they can be used with any bed frame.

Question 6

Can a headboard be attached to the Midnight Foundation?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Puffy Midnight Foundation comes with headboard attachments. The brackets bolt directly to the frame and feature multiple slots designed to accommodate most headboards. Installation instructions for these brackets are included in the product manual.

Question 7

What is the weight capacity of the Midnight Foundation?

Accepted Answer

The Puffy Midnight Foundation has a weight capacity of 1,200 lbs. This robust design ensures it can comfortably support your mattress and sleepers without any durability or stability issues.

Question 8

What happens if you put a mattress on the floor?

Accepted Answer

Placing a mattress on the floor may lead to sliding, dust and debris buildup, and reduced airflow over time. While Puffy mattresses are compatible with any flat surface, a foundation like the Puffy Midnight Foundation helps keep your mattress in place while promoting better ventilation, support, and longevity.

Question 9

How much does a good mattress foundation cost?

Accepted Answer

The cost of a mattress foundation will depend on the size of your mattress and the features of the foundation. For example, a solid foundation can cost $100 to $300, while an adjustable bed base with advanced features can cost $700 to $2,000.

Question 10

Where to buy mattress foundation?

Accepted Answer

You can find various types of mattress foundations on our website. The Puffy Midnight Foundation is sturdy and great for proper support. The Puffy Dusk Bed Frame is sleek and stylish, offering a modern look in addition to support. The Puffy Serenity Adjustable Base allows you to customize comfort with features like adjustable head & leg height, LED lighting, built-in dual USB ports, and more.

Question 11

When to replace the mattress foundation?

Accepted Answer

A mattress foundation could last up to 10 years or more, depending on the quality of the materials used. For example, the Puffy Midnight Foundation is made from heavy-duty SilentSteel™ - the strong engineering endures heavy weight and is built to last for years.
